Section of Organic Chemistry
The section of organic chemistry is one of the oldest sections in the university. Currently, there are 26 teachers, including 4 professors, 13 associate professors, and 9 lecturers, among whom 20 have doctoral degrees, 6 have master degrees. There are 3 doctoral supervisors, and 14 master supervisors. Teachers graduated from Peking University, Zhejiang University, Jilin University, Tianjin University, Shandong University, Dalian University of Technology, Sichuan University, Liaoning University, Liaoning Normal University, Xuzhou Normal University, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and other colleges and universities. It is a vigorous and sustainable team with high-level education, good discipline composition, balanced title distribution, reasonable age structure and vitality.
The organic chemistry course undertaken by the section is one of the first main courses set up by Shenyang Pharmaceutical University. "Organic Chemistry" is one of the important compulsory basic courses for all majors in pharmacy. Compared with similar courses in China, this course has a long history, continuous development, high academic level, and is closely integrated with pharmacy courses. At the same time, elective courses were also provided to the undergraduates by the section, such as "Organic Stereochemistry", "Organic Reaction Process", "Bioorganic Chemistry", "Metal Organic Chemistry", and postgraduate courses "Advanced Organic Chemistry", "Organic Synthetic Chemistry", "Polymer Chemistry", "Chemical Informatics", "Applied Chemistry Monograph" , and so on. The major of applied chemistry was approved in 2003, and began for enrollment in 2004. New courses was also opened for applied chemistry majors, including: "Basic Synthetic Organic Chemistry", "Basic Polymer Chemistry", "Fine Chemicals Chemistry", "Chemical Informatics Fundamentals", etc. The organic chemistry course has become a provincial-level excellent course, and the section has become a provincial-level teaching team, with 2 famous teachers in Liaoning Province. In teaching work, the section has been at the forefront of medical colleges and universities across the nation. The section has edited and participated in the editing of many textbooks and monographs, and used to be the editor-in-chief of the textbook "Organic Chemistry" (first and second editions) for medical colleges and universities, and participating in the textbook "Organic Chemistry" (third, fourth, and fifth editions) for medical colleges and universities.
